Dua of Intention

بِسْمِ اللَّـهِ الرَّحْمَـٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ. اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي نَوَيْتُ بِالصَّلَاةِ عَلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَليْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، امْتِثَالًا لِأَمْرِكَ، وَتَصْدِيقًا لِنَبِيِّكَ سَيِّدِنَا مُحَمَّدٍ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَليْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، وَمَحَبَّةً فِيهِ، وَشَوْقًا إِلَيْهِ، وَتَعْظِيمًا لِقَدْرِهِ، وَلِكَوْنِهِ أَهْلًا لِذَلِكَ. فَتَقَبَّلْهَا مِنِّي بِفَضْلِكَ وَإِحْسَانِكَ. وَأَزِلْ حِجَابَ الغَفْلَةِ عَنْ قَلْبِي وَاجْعَلْنِي مِنْ عِبَادِكَ الصَّالِحِينَ.

O Allah! I intend to ask for blessings upon on the Prophet sallAllahu alayhi wasallam, in obedience to Your command and with faith in Your Prophet, Sayyidina Muhammad sallAllahu alayhi wasallam. [I do so] with love for him and yearning for him, and exalting his rank as he merits. So accept it from me by Your favour and benevolence, and remove the veil of neglect from my heart and make me one of Your righteous slaves.

اللَّهُمَّ زِدْهُ شَرَفًا عَلَى شَرَفِهِ الَّذِي أَوْلَيْتَهُ، وَعِزًّا عَلَى عِزِّهِ الَّذِي أَعْطَيْتَهُ، وَنُورًا عَلَى نُورِهِ الَّذِي مِنْهُ خَلَقْتَهُ، وَأَعْلِ مَقَامَهُ فِي مَقَامَاتِ المُرْسَلِينَ وَدَرَجَتَهُ فِي دَرَجَاتِ النَّبِيِّينَ.

O Allah! Increase him in honour above the honour which You have given him, and with might beyond the might which You have given him, and give him a light beyond his light from which You created. Elevate his station among the stations of the Messengers, and his rank among the ranks of the Prophets.

وَأَسْأَلُكَ رِضَاكَ وَرِضَاهُ يَا رَبَّ العَالَمِينَ مَعَ العَافِيَةِ الدَّائِمَةِ وَالمَوْتِ عَلَى الكِتَابِ وَالسُّنَّةِ وَالجَمَاعَةِ وَكَلِمَتَيْ الشَّهَادَةِ عَلَى تَحْقِيقِهَا مِنْ غَيْرِ تَبْدِيلٍ وَلَا تَغْيِيرٍ. وَاغْفِرْ لِي مَا ارْتَكَبْتُهُ بِفَضْلِكَ وَجُودِكَ وَكَرَمِكَ يَا أَرْحَمَ الرَّاحِمِينَ. وَصَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَى سَيِّدِنَا مُحَمَّدٍ خَاتِمِ النَّبِيِّينَ وَإِمَامِ المُرْسَلِينَ وَعَلَى آلِهِ وَصَحْبِهِ أَجْمَعِينَ وَسَلَامٌ عَلَى المُرْسَلِينَ وَالحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ رَبِّ العَالَمِينَ.

I ask You for Your pleasure, and his gratification, O Lord of the Worlds, and perpetual well-being, and a death in obedience to The Book and the Sunnah, with fulfillment of my shahadah without alteration. Forgive me, by Your favour, bounty and generosity, for what I have done, O Most Merciful of the merciful. May Allah bless Sayyidina Muhammad, the Seal of the Prophets and Imam of the Messengers, and his family and all his Companions, and grant them peace. Peace be upon the Messengers, and praise be to Allah, the Lord of the Worlds.
